PostSubject: Chapter 2: Don't Feed the Animals   06/02/15, 08:25 am

--December 8th, Friday, 6:00 pm--

James, or rather Revenant as he was called by the public, zipped from rooftop to rooftop. Christ, another of those damn Brutes, Jame said to Gestalt. I thought we took out that stuff with the Chemist.

Indeed......though if you recall, when we went back to his lab, someone had stolen his hard drives. Doubtless they had the chemical formula and notes inside.

Even a month after defeating the Chemist, James and the rest of Brooklyn still had yet to leave behind his monsters. Somehow his super-drug made it out, and every gang enforcer was able to turn into a scaled down version of the Chemist's brutes. It was.....manageable, as far as fights went. At least James was able to take them on by himself. But it was leading to too many close calls, and a lot of chaos in the bad areas of town stretching out.

We need to find where it's coming from, and burn it to the ground, James said to Gestalt. It also didn't help that, in the spirit of winter, there was snow. Lots and lots of snow. Heck even before he had become bonded to the nanites, James had trouble performing parkour with the snowy roofs and iced over handholds. And that still didn't change.

Marcus was sitting down on the edge of a building, his legs dangling off the edge and the mask that made him the villain or vigilante shadow or the darkness. He took many names but was glad that at least they weren't calling him a murderer. Life had taken a change ever since the entity had bonded with... "Marcus get down from their." Marcus leaned his head over to see Bella the monologue destroyer at her prime. A twin of his dead sister and his new sister or at least he hoped she wasn't making up her history. She didn't know of course nor would she believe him most likely.

"Bell you ruined my thoughts. Whats up?" Marcus would ask the polymorph like human.

"You said we would go out and hunt today or do you still have those boo boos." Bella was referring to the attack Marcus had encountered moments after his tag team fight with the vigilante or should be hero Rev and the unknown giant suit of metal against the sinister Doctor and his range of brutes.

"Of course, I had not forgotten." Marcus simply replied to her as strands of darkness harnessed itself around Marcus before making 4 spider like tendrils that together carried Marcus to the ground and once upon the ground next to his sister the darkness vanished inside him. With a slight bow and a gesture with his hands he finished to his sister. "Shall we melade?"

Right as he landed on a rooftop, he got a call from Amy, her caller ID showing up on his HUD. Answering it he said "Sup Amy, what's going on? Trouble with the new digs?" She chuckled over the line and said "No, the power flow is stable now--thank you Gestalt by the way. No I called because Chris and I just finished with the last of the boxes, so our little hideout is now officially, complete." Stopping for a moment, James took the time to clap and said "Wow, that's great. Well I was on my way back anyway so don't uncork the wine till I do." Laughing, she said "Right, like I'd soil this with wine..." Her voice trailed off, and she said "Whoa hold up. Something's going on in Manhattan.....over by Central Park at 59th street and 5th Avenue."

From where Amy sat in their hideout, she looked at the news article on her computer screen. Paling, her voice quivered as she said "Oh god, James you gotta get there now. There's.....well, a monster there. Patching you in." On his HUD, James saw a screen pop up showing live traffic camera footage of that area. He couldn't get a clear look, smoke from a flaming car obstructing his vision, but it was big for certain. "Dammit I'm.....I'm near the Brooklyn Bridge. And I haven't even tried moving around in Manhattan yet."

James, we have a suggestion. Already we showed that we can mimic fibers like your clothing.....we propose, that you allow us to make a temporary extension for the nano-epidermis. Similar to what you humans call 'wingsuits?'

Whoa whoa whoa, I could fly?

No. Gliding would be the appropriate term, but we would need to get the right height for it to get the maximum effect. Get to the top of the Brooklyn Bridge, then jump off towards the city.

Please work please work please work.....

Lucy had been jogging when it'd had happened; a silver van pulling up next to her as he arms were pinned to her sides and dragged backwards through the side-door, something whispered in her ear as a bag being pulled down over her face. She wanted to kick and scream, but her body wouldn't listen; her arms, legs and jaw locking in place.

Along the way to the bridge, James saw something that made him groan in frustration: a kidnapping. There was a girl, high-schooler maybe, who was jogging in the street when a van pulled up and she was forcibly pulled inside. "Really? Give me a break dammit!" he yelled as he dove off the roof of the current building he was on. As the van sped away, he fired a cable ahead of it, securing himself to a traffic light. Pulling himself in, he let go and landed on the roof with a thud. "I do not have time for this dammit...."

"What the fuck?" Someone said, the distinct sound of several guns being loaded. "Whoever's the fuck is up there, you have three seconds before we shoot!"

Flipping off the roof and onto the hood, Revenant glared (as well as he could while the suits mask covered his face) at the driver and said "Pull over. Now!" As if to emphasize the statement, his right arm extended into a blade.

"Fuck!" The driver shouted, "Don't get involved in this you fucking idiot!" One of the men in the back leant over the seat as the driver spoke, bring an automatic pistol to bear,
"I'm fucking warning you," He said, flicking the safety off.

Zeru was walking beside a stone wall chuckling to himself wondering how many people he had chain letters sent to actually sent it to someone else."nothing like just chilling and thinking about mischief"he said before jumping onto the wall and continuing his walk.

The blade reformed back into a fist, and for a moment it looked like Revenant was backing down. Until he punched through the glass with the same fist, and the nanites exploded out, much like if they were firing the cables, only at a reduced speed. His fist slammed into the gunman's face, knocking them back. "Now pull over!"

As the gunman recoiled from the blow, his finger slipped, sending a spray of bullets through the side and roof of the van. One stray bullet hit one of the others in the arm. As they tried to recover, the last, uninjured kidnapped opened fire on Revenant with a shotgun. The gunfire shocked Lucy enough to let her move. She ripped the bag from her head while the kidnappers were distracted by the fight or by their wounds. She was near the door, close enough that she could open it, and roll out of the moving vehicle.

The first man to notice was the one who'd been shot,
"FUCK!" He shouted, "Stop the fucking van! She's out!" The driver slammed on the breaks, looking back out of the now open door, obviously more concerned by that than Revenant.

Before they could get far, Revenant violently moved his arm through the hole in the windshield, breaking it all into shards and letting him grab the driver, hauling them out. "I am in a rush here so let's make this fast," Revenant snarled, hitting the man hard in the face. He spotted the girl running away, and figured she'd be safe so long as she kept running. He had to focus on her would be kidnappers then dash to Central Park.

One of the men put his hands in the air, looking Revenant in what he thought were his eyes.
"You're making a huge mistake," He said, "Do you know how many people could die thanks to you?"

"Do you know how many people are already dying because I had to stop this kidnapping?" James snapped before delivering a roundhouse kick to the guy that spoke.

As Marcus and Bella walked on, Marcus could feel a vibrating phone in his cargo pants pocket. "Hold on." He quickly said to Bella as he pulled the device from his pocket and turned it on. The Vibration was a alert for messages from news sources and other. "Bell seems something is up at central park at 59th street and 5th Avenue." Marcus told her as he read the news report. Bella walked besides him and took the phone from his hands to read it.

"Good thing we decided to walk this way, I know where to go from here." Bella told Marcus as she broke into a speedy jog, Marcus catching up.

"Thank god your around. I would get lost so many times."

Maybe.. you shouldn't.. be an idiot. Darks voice came weak and tired and Marcus ignored him. Something Dark was now beginning to hate, He lothed Marcus's voice but now all he wanted was to hear it talk to him again.

"By kidnapping a jogger?" Revenant asked almost sarcastically. He couldn't wast anymore time talking though, and was forced to leap from kidnapper to kidnapper as he struck them, following Chris' training advice on how to properly disable or immobilize the opponent. No blades, just punches and kicks augmented by his strength and the metallic epidermis he wore.

Marcus and Bella walked side by side as the day went by, Marcus didn't say much but that was because he was lost while Bella had decided to wait on Marcus to say something, not knowing they were lost. "Where are we?" Bella's voice was sharp and angry and Marcus could only playfully take a step away from her."

"I may not know." Marcus said as he took another step away and Bella stared at him with with her lips curling and showing her teeth that started to sharpen themselves. "Can I run now." Bella was about to pounce on him when she heard a noise or more like multiple.. people screaming.

"Somethings wrong." She stood tall and looked towards where the noise came from and started running. Marcus followed her the best he could.

Whatever it was downtown, it was big and vicious. A standard of any monster really but it in no way lessened the impact on the people in the area. With a cry of rage and pain, it flung a car in an arc through the air, the vehicular missile crashing through the front window of the nearby Apple store. The cops were there, guns firing as they tried to bring it down though the bullets did little against the thick hide.

Marcus at first couldn't hear it but as they got closer he could hear gunshots and roars. His mask already on his face he ran a little faster to catch up. "Bell Stay back and wait, turn into your animal and then come out. We don't need you to be known." He said in his demonic voice to which bella complied, running away from him to find a safe and secure location. Marcus watched her and then ran again until he was at the attack site, police surrounded the area and Marcus was pretty sure the Hercs would be here soon. Do their Job and they try to kill you. Marcus ignored Dark and ran to a police officer that he towered over.

"Get the civilians out of here." The officer jumped and turned to Marcus firing a bullet that was deflected by a tendril of darkness. Marcus simply stared at him and walked past the car to the beast looking thing. Dark colored and covered in messed up fur. "Hey princess, your prince charming is here."

The creature ignored him, ape-like in how it moved on all fours. Eight feet tall at the shoulders, its pale skin was coated in thick patches of dark fur. It's long, crocodile jaws snapped open and close at an idle pace, saliva dripping down in long thick ribbons. Bits of flesh and clothing stuck to the teeth that jutted out like daggers, eyes like hot coals panning over the street before it, tail swishing behind it. People still screamed, its prey trying to flee. And it was still hungry, crawling towards a fallen woman who tried to play dead.

"Seems he don't wanna play." Marcus raised three tendril from his shadow and sent them into the Beasts back before moving to a car and using tendrils to lift it up. Straining what felt like his whole body, Marcus moved closer to the beast. Ready to throw the car at the creature when it came. "Sunshine demon meat over here. Nice and tasty this time of the year." He yelled at the creature.

Roaring more in fury than pain, the creature rounded on Shadow, leaping at him with its hindlegs. Right forearm raised, caws extended from its fingers as it slashed at the hero.

Marcus threw the car at the beast as it lept seeing as it couldn't move mid jump and then went into his shadow form to avoid the attack if the car failed. That or the car hit and the beast just kept coming. That would mean that he was avoiding both the car and the beast.

Bella had removed herself from her clothes and changed into her cougar form, stalking the street that had an unlikeable creature and Marcus just standing their. Show off.

The car hit the beast alright......and it sent it crashing it backwards, into a police cruiser. When they saw it coming the cops scattered for cover as their car was crushed, the creature sandwiched between the two cars. It roared in fury, metal screeching as it ripped its way through the vehicles. It hardly looked hurt though as it flung both crushed vehicles back at Shadow. People screamed then as it turned, running away towards the Central Park, thundering down the road and trampling into paste any pedestrian that got in its path.

"Shit." Marcus could only say as he moved in his shadow form to move after the beast but quickly exited the form running after the thing. Shadow didn't know if he was going to lose it or not when Bella ran past him, her nose keeping an eye on the beast movement. "Can't believe I'm saying this but we need to move it away from people or else the new food sensation will be human paste." Marcus Yelled to bella and she just kept running after so Marcus felt alone in his words.

Surprisingly, the creature was fast when it built up momentum. Leaping over the short wall into the park, the creature ran into the trees and bushes, though it was at a slight disadvantage: with winter here in the city, the vegetation had lost their leaves, branches devoid of foliage and covered in snow and ice. A blanket of white snow covered the ground, the creature not minding the cold as it blazed a trail through the snow.

However, that still left a scene of utter carnage back at the street corner. People were wounded, broken bones and torn skin and laying in the snowy streets. Others were dead, ripped apart as the monster had eaten them. Police did what they could, waiting for the ambulances and fire trucks to arrive.

Marcus didn't lose the creature thanks to tracks and Bellas nose but now he had to do something. The creature was running from him so while it may not look hurt maybe it was or maybe it just got scared? Marcus had to shake his head in response to this as that would mean it would have to have a higher brain function then the berserkers he fought when at their first stage. Mindless and angry.

After enough running Marcus caught sight of the beast and formed several shadow Bolas Large enough to wrap around the beast before throwing them at the creature.

Bella ran ahead of Marcus to try and blend in the background until moment arised for her to strike.

Suddenly, the creature made a sharp left turn, dodging the bolas as they flew past and wrapped around a tree. Knocking over a smaller sapling, the beast grabbed it like a club, throwing it at Shadow, the missile spinning in the air as it went flying at him.

"How the hell?" Marcus said as he ducked to allow the missile to fly by him. Standing back up Marcus let his arm hang in the air as a ball of darkness formed before violently moving to punch the ground. The ball of darkness then separated as it moved under the ground until it reached the creature and several shadow like spikes came up from the ground under the beast.

Bella had moved around the beast and hid with the snow, waiting ever so silently.

Lucy ran several blocks, cutting through alleyways, leaping over fences when she had to; her hobby of parkour coming in handy. She'd run this exact alleyway a few times, so it came naturally as she jumped onto a dumpster and up the fire escape in one quick movement. The building she'd climbed into was abandoned, but every entrance was locked or boarded up, save for the roof, and the stairs she'd just climbed didn't have an extended ladder, so the building was always empty. She'd come here so often, that it was her safe haven. She kept a sleeping bag and tinned food here, hidden under a floorboard on the fourth floor, for when she didn't want to stay at home.

As she came down the stairs, she heard a voice behind her. A man.
"-Saw the target entering, Moving to confront." He was talking into a radio, a rifle slung in front of him. Lucy blacked out.

The man held his arm out, trying a different approach this time.
"Hey, Lucy? I'm Mark, I'm here to take you home." His tone was soft as he approached, stepping lighly as he did.
Eris turned, a rail gun extending from her wrist. She raised it and fired before the man had a chance to say another word. The round punched a hole through his stomach, passing straight through and crashing into the room behind him, demolishing it entirely. The man started screaming, his radio turned on as the men in the van listened in horror, until there was a crack and a squelch from the radio, Eris' wrist blade piercing his skull.
She spoke into the radio,
"I'm coming."

The spikes pierced through the hide, though it was a shallow penetration. That said, the creature was momentarily immobilized, screaming in pain before a bellow laden with rage erupted from its throat. Thrashing around, the spikes tore through like blades, erupting from the sides of its belly and legs. Blood poured down and bits of flesh stuck to the spikes. Landing on the ground, it snarled, lips peeled back from the teeth stained red in blood from its prey as it glared pure hatred at Shadow. But with the rage came a certain degree of fear, alertness. It was an animal like any other, spooked and wary, taking in the environment with all its senses. It could tell there was something near, in Bella's direction.

After dealing with the kidnappers--though to his regret not being able to check on their target--James/Revenant managed to get to the top of the Brooklyn bridge. For James, it was so far the highest point he had ever climbed and despite doing dangerous parkour stunts daily, and being augmented with the nanites.......he'd have been lying if he said that the strong, gusting wind up at the top of the tall structure did not have him more than a little unnerved. And you're sure this is going to work? he demanded of the AI.

Certainty is not known, only best estimates. Follow our instructions, and this maneuver will have a.....85% chance of success.

85%? What the fuck happens in the 15%?

You did love pancakes right?

Dammit fuck you Gestalt! Okay.....okay breathe......breathe..... James thought to himself as he stepped closer to the corner of the bridge's tower. Stretching between his arms and torso, along with between his legs, the nanites had stretched the epidermis out like plastic wrap. Now it looked like he was wearng a wingsuit, which was fitting since this whole plan revolved around him.....gliding. Peeking over the lip of the edge, he saw down into the East River below, the water almost calm, dark and abysmal. "Oh man I shouldn't have looked," he groaned out. Closing his eyes, he breathed again, slowly and said "Fuck it." With that, he jumped off the edge and got the all too familiar feeling in his stomach. Like the bottom had fallen out at the moment of the plunge. Wind rushed by him, his new wings flapping loosely as he held his limbs tightly to his body.

NOW! Gestalt yelled, and James angled his back up, becoming near perpendicular to the earth below as he opened his arms and legs. With a snap, the wind caught in his wings. And suddenly, he wasn't falling.....well, straight down anyway. As the wind caught, he began moving forward over the water, gliding now along the bridge. When he began to dip, Gestalt then told him what to do. On his left, the wing was pulled back as the nanites freed his arm to fire a cable, grabbing onto the side of the bridge ahead of him. Pulling himself forward, he rocketed on by before he extended his arms again, the wing stretching back into place. Now on Manhattan proper, James had landed in the middle of the FDR freeway. And he still had a lot of distance to cover, dodging traffic as he ran across the freeway and shot another cable, now headed to move between the skyscrapers.

Marcus walked closer to the creature, more spiked tendrils being sent for the creatures arms. He stopped when he was within a distance that the creature would at least need to take a step before reaching him. "I would have killed you now. But I need someone to get here first." His voice being demonic had a hint of venom and anger for the beast.

Bella walked out of her hiding hole and relocated herself behind Marcus. "Now... what." Her voice was raspy and she herself was growling at the beast.

Marcus turned to her and back. "We wait."

As the spikes pierced its arms, it screamed in rage, struggling against them and forced its way out, the spikes holding up skewered pieces of skin and flesh, more blood painting the snow white snow. It didn't give them a chance to follow up on their attack; opening it's maw, the creature caught both off guard as its tongue shot out like a chameleon's, hitting Shadow and knocking him back into Bella. A sticky substance spread over them both, securing them like glue as the monster drew them in. Instead of trying to eat them, it raised its head as they sped toward it, back arching as it swung them over its head. At the end of their arc, it released them both and sent them flying away before it turned and ran.

The gliding was still new to James, but he managed to get the hang of it: zipline, then release andd add his gliding to his speed, giving him extra distance before he had to use the cables again. People in the street spotted him, he was still close to the ground. And being in Manhattan like this was.....well, different from Brooklyn. Brooklyn still had it's old feel, the classic look with some upgraded parts. But the Gilded Apple had earned its name, being redone and using new tech like holographic advertisements mounted on blank walls, surveillance drones the size of basketballs floated around like mini-copters. What's the status on the monster?

Gone. It ran into the park--Shadow and the shapeshifter went after it, but so far nothing.

Marcus Was generally surprised by the attack and tried spinning in the air to see if they would crash into something only to spin Bell out of the way and to feel the force of him hitting a tree with his chest. Falling onto Bellas back and snow Marcus laid their for a few seconds before finally saying something. "OWw"

Instead of finishing them off, the monster ran, too wounded to fight as its flight response took over. Dashing through trees, it soon left the area, leaving both of the heroes somewhat glued together and stuck to the snow.

Finally, James arrived, gliding down from between the buildings to the mess that was the street corner. The police and emergency response teams were hard at work attending to people, though several civilians caught sight of him. None were happy. "Hey. hey you!" one of them shouted. "Where the hell were you eh? Where they fuck were you ten minutes ago?!" Another person screamed at him, words of "You and your friends, you brought this madness on us, you did!" Revenant ignored them though, running from the scene as he followed the path of the creature. Moving through the park, it wasn't long before he found Shadow and the shape-shifter, in a rather awkward position.

"So uh....I know it's a nice day and it' a clear spot in the park and all," Revenant said from where he stood, "but do you guys really need to do this now?"

Marcus began to struggle against the sticky saliva when he heard Revs voice. "We meet each other after god knows how long and you make a joke of that sorts."

Bella herself was having no luck and when she heard the wise crack she couldn't help but growl.

"Mind helping?" Marcus asked before trying to get out again.

"I can try," Revenant said, walking over. He fired a cable into the hardened saliva, and nanites began spreading out through the cracks, eating away at the gunk that bound the two together. It fell apart, and they were released. "What happened?" he asked. "I mean, most I've heard was that there was a monster or something."

Marcus stood up as Bella released herself and wondered off. "It was eating at people, this beast of unnatural things, much like the brutes only it was smarter and faster, also felt fear I think so not mindless. But someone made it. I tried to capture it alive just incase it was somehow human but then it got us with a spit attack."

"Huh....okay then, let me check something out," Revenant said, moving to one of the red sploches on the snow. Blood, and lots of it, mixed with pieces of the beasts skin. Shadow had done a number on it and it still managed to disable them both and run. Kneeling down, he took a piece of the flesh in his hand, nanites seeping out of his palm to cover it, examining it.

The hide is tough. Comparable perhaps, to your Rhinos of Africa. However the DNA is anything but pure Rhino, or even mammalian. Interesting......this creature, is not a natural animal. Detecting artificial chemicals and mutagens. The mutagens are similar to a type patented by Panacea, though this is far more.....aggressive. And tailored for animals, not plants. The DNA itself is an amalgam of different species and even clades, trees if you will of which different species hail from. Reptilian DNA spliced with mammalian, along with some limited inclusions of fish.....Zebra Fish.

Okay okay, what does this mean? Someone created it? Did Panacea create this?

No, no they wouldn't have. Or rather, they wouldn't have made something so.....rough around the edges. If we were to hazard a guess, this thing is.....well, the first of its kind and was made with limited resources. Impressive, despite the crudeness. And....there's traces of the Beserker compound. It's not the mutagen, or compound used to blend the DNA together. This was used......as the growth hormone. Intriguing.

Marcus walked Next to rev while picking off bits of leftover snow and saliva. "So our mystery Lizard a Human animal thing?" He asked in his demonic voice.

Bella had stuck her nose was sniffing about for a scent. But couldn't find much, so Bella's next plan was to go and get her clothes back by turning into her fox which blended with the snow and started her travel back to the start of the creatures rampage.

"No, just animal," Revenant said. "Someone.....bred it. From the ground up; they engineered that monster." Standing up, he let the skin fall from his fingers, staring back at Shadow. "We can try and track it.....but it's a big park, believe me. And if someone made it, no telling how many more are out there." Then the not so subtle sound of engines could be heard, coming from above and making Revenant look in their direction. "And we're not gonna have time to look: cops are on the way with one gunship at best by the sound of those engines. We gotta go, now!"

Marcus listened to Rev and turned when he heard the sound of engines himself. "Yea, you go ahead you're faster than me most likely and I can deal with them. No killing. Call me when you have a lead, Next time I wanna kill that son of a bitch before it runs and I hope it can hit me this time." As Marcus said this he started to run to the forest as a covered getaway.

"No killing!" James parroted sternly, before turning tail and running himself. It was going to be a trip back to Brooklyn, though he was confident he'd make it.

Bella made it back in one piece and now human with her not ruined clothes for once. She walked outside to the street that she ran past to check the damage. Some civvies were dead and others were injured. She was thankful Marcus drove it away and while she heard complaints about the vigilantes she knew they were thankful to some degree.

Marcus ran threw the cover of bushes while removing his mask, taking a few turns here and there until he found a wall that he easily climbed over. "Now to play the waiting game I guess."

Revenant moved over the park wall and into the street. Traffic was clearing up, police pushing taxi's and other cars back, along with the civilians as they began clearing the park and streets around it. When they saw Revenant, two of them pulled out their guns and ordered him to freeze, surrender, the usual commands. He of course, ignored them, running away before firing a cable. The downside though, was that all the buildings were way, way too tall for him to reach the roof, so he was forced to instead of going all the way up, to swing.

Police, thinking Bella was another civilian, ushered her away from the park entrance as they cleared the area.

"Yeesh I'm going." Bella said as she was ushered away. While this did annoy her to some degree, Bella thought of it as the best. "What to do, what to do."

Marcus decided that once he was in the clear he would try and move around to find Bella which shouldn't have been too hard. Just needed to get past all the police and Hercs. So human you doing anything?

"You ask that why."

No reason.. just bored.

The creature had escaped, managing to flee through a subway tunnel. Many of the people were still fleeing, running out in fear as it ran past them, squeezing through and tramping many of the people before it moved to the tracks and tunnels. And deeper still. Manhattan had, over the years, built over old subway tunnels without sealing up old ones. A labyrinth of tunnels was beneath the city.....as perfect a hiding spot for Pandora as any. Her creation returned, whining finally as it crossed the threshold of its 'nesting' grounds. She was on it in a heartbeat, overlooking its wounds. It was bad, but nothing it's own regenerating abilities could fix in the next few hours.

Revenant had to hightail it, switching between using the cables and gliding. Thankfully, the tight streets prevented use of gunships, so he managed to avoid the cops.

After some maneuvering and luck Marcus and Bella were together again and sitting in the snow. "So the creature is being hunted by Rev and we are waiting."Marcus told Bella but had a surprised look when she started laughing.

"You two and your tech. I'm a beast and enhanced smell. I can track it down easily." Marcus hadn't thought about that and at the time it seemed like a good idea.

"Alright I have an idea too."

"What?"

"its a lizard and if I remember the amazing spider man then lizards tend to like sewers."

Bella thought about that and saw it as a place to go looking. She turned to Marcus to see he had a mask on and was waving in front of a camera. "What are you doing?"

Marcus pulled out his phone and started pointing at it. "Until I get Revs number this seems to be the only way of contacting him."

Okay so, get a read on where that thing went? James asked Gestalt.

Yes. It went into the subway system further up, but we lost it as it fled into older subway system tunnels. For now.....it's in the wind, as you'd say.

Dammit....okay, so back home then for now. It's a maze down there, and we won't be able to find it without getting lost.

Oh and Shadow was waving his phone at a camera again. Should we just tel him to call the number in his history?

No, he needs to learn these things. But call him anyway.... A few seconds later, Revenant called Shadow's phone.
