Name: Siren

Age: 20

Affiliation: Independent

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Background:
Only aged 12 before the end, two fifths of Siren’s life has been spent fighting for survival. Her mother froze to death not long after the country lost power, and was raised by her marine father. He spent most of her childhood teaching her to fight and survive alone. She learned quickly that this was how she’d survive, and tried her hardest to be able to kill, with her hands as well as an assortment of weapons and knives.

One night, while her group (Consisting of her, her father, and his military friends and their families) were resting en route to what the radio had said was a “Safe zone”, a gunshot went off and the soldiers in the group went to check, loading their rifles as they assured everyone it was fine. Some of them screamed as they were ripped open, and some ran back, desperate to get their own families away, only to die with them. Siren’s father had been badly wounded, though he and Siren got away. As he lay there that night, he made Siren promise to get to the safe zone, even if he didn’t.

They continued the trek the next morning. It was slow, because of the high snow, but it was quiet. Nothing bothered them, though her father always had a pistol close to hand. It didn’t last and within two hours they were cornered. Her father, still wounded, told her to leave through the window and he would keep them from following her. She refused, and he shouted at her for the first time in her life. Shocked and crying, she hugged him and ran, taking his rifle and backpack. She heard six shots, and then another that rang out with a dark sense of finality. She didn’t rest that night, opting to walk all night.

The next day she arrived at the safe zone. It was overrun. With her head hung low, she trudged back towards the city, knowing no where else to go. She stayed there, hidden in a building for months, only realising later what a miracle that was, until a scavenger found her and brought her back to the town he was contracted at. She stayed, for a while, and had originally intended to stay. She got bored, though, of not being able to do anything, and set out as soon as she was able, eventually becoming one of the most well-known scavengers, a status earned by repeat trips into dead zones.

Name: Leonid Travnikov

Age: 36

Affiliation: Solntsevskaya Bratva

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Background: Born in what was at the time Leningrad, Leonid grew up in a poor area with his mother, while his father went off fighting the wars for the Soviet Union. As a young man, Leonid always dreamt of joining the Union and it’s armed forces and fighting for it’s people, though his mother stopped at nothing to dissuade this.

At the age of sixteen, Leonid began to associate himself with small time crooks, robbing people and stores to make some money for themselves and their families. In the same year, his mother was raped and killed by unknown assailants, sending Leonid into a spiral of depression and near insanity. Eventually, during one of his groups robberies, he killed a civilian, and was quickly incapacitated by the team, who said they wouldn’t risk taking a maniac like him with them. He was arrested, and promptly thrown into prison at the age of eighteen.

During his time in the harsh reformatories, Leonid watched people die, kill, and commit all other number of atrocities that he could never even imagine. One day, he was approached by a group of men, and quickly began to fight them, ignoring their offer for ‘protection’. In the scuffle that followed, Leonid took down only one of the four men before he was beaten into submission.

For the next three years of his sentence, Leonid tried everything he could to survive on his own, and though he risked death countless times, he’d garnered a small following of new comers, forming a small clique. At one point, he was met by the head of another prison gang, known as the ‘Sol Brotherhood’. They claimed to be part of a larger operation outside the prisons, and offered he and his gang recruitment into their numbers. Though many jumped at the chance, Leonid refused until his very last day in the prisons, at the age of twenty-one, in 2000.

When he was released, it became dangerously apparent that whoever he’d killed had been someone far more powerful than he thought. In his first week, Leonid was attacked on the streets and forced to run for his life from a trio of attackers. It turned out he’d killed a high ranking member of a powerful crime family, and quickly he sought out the help of the same people who’d offered him a place in their ranks not long ago.

By the time he was twenty-two, Leonid was a member of the Solntsevskaya Bratva, a trained killer, a masterful thief, and an astounding maker of allies. It didn't take long before he cemented his place within the criminal organisation of Russia and the Soviet Union.

By the time the disease hit Russia in 2015, Leonid was already set up. A large house, a safe life, and what he thought was an eternal hold within the country and the Bratva. It didn't take long for everything he knew to crumble around him. His city fell, his country fell, and in a last ditch effort the surviving members of the once massive Bratva came together, for their last time. Trades and discussions, and with friendly wishes they parted ways, all equipped to the best of their ability and prepared to live in a new world, and craft new empires under the eyes of the world.
