There is no format, as there is no RP to format to.

The Idea:
TE SPECULUM ES:REFLECTE You are the mirror: Reflect
ES SPECULUM: REFLECTE Be the mirror: Reflect

A spirit crossed over from the fade. It had watched the world turn for many ages. It learned much of the living mortals that inhabited Thedas and beyond. It was saddened when the people warred and when the people died. It watched countless men and women and those in-betweem get hurt, suffer, and be betrayed. It watched as all the world burned as one ideology fought another. With every act of violence, it was saddened. Every time a child was born the spirit was happy. It watched children learn and grow - and sometimes tried to help the child, as it could through the fade. Some of these children were mages, and though some learned that the presence they sometimes felt was a spirit, others did not. Some of those who learned of its existence tried to figure out what kind of spirit it was. Some tried to summon it, or contain it. They never succeeded. The spirit was wary of these acts, it did not want recognition. Some of the mage-children grew to fear the spirit, and tried to seek consolation in their elders. Some thought it wanted a body, to possess. Few of the elder-mages knew that the spirit was benevolent, though strange.

it watched some of these mage-children go through the "harrowing". It travelled through the fade as it pleased - unbound. When a mage-child looked like he or she was going to fail the test, the spirit would move the child away from the demon, and the demon would ponder "why?". Few of the children would realize what had happened. That the demon was now farther away, and its power to possess somehow negated. When the children returned - their harrowing finished, they were confused. When questioned about their harrowing they could only ever remember something holding them, or moving around them like water would. Something gentle and caring and safe. These accounts were so rare they weren't recorded. The elder's however, the head-mage would record some of these, and he would ponder if it was the same spirit that guided him or her, long ago.

There were times the spirit could not help the mage-children and they would turn to abominations. The spirit was saddened by this and in some respects, hardened. It cared for these children it saw. It followed them through life, and tried to guide them on the right path. Even the non-mage-children it helped. It would be a guiding force to help them through troubled times. Helping them be patient when they would otherwise be rash.

The spirit watched trees grow from seeds to saplings to giants. It watched all that lived in the world. It was curious. It also followed animals, cats and dogs and birds. It followed everything it could through a lifetime of patience and observance. It spent as much time watching things in nature as it did cities or towns.

It watched the humans enter elven lands as the elves warred on. It watched Tevinter mages enter the fade, and go to the now Black City. It watched. The spirit was old and had seen much. As the mortal realm changed over time, the spirit began to see a pattern to the change. It began to predict changes. Then it began to help people through the changes. Whether they were poor or rich, of noble class or farmers. The spirit would guide them to happiness, and sometimes that happiness would lead to good fortune.

A dreamer, at one time, entered the fade. The spirit was curious and watched the dreamer for a time. Eventually the Dreamer sensed the spirit and attempted to approach. The spirit however was always just out of reach. The Dreamer tried again and again to reach the spirit but failed each time. Eventually the Dreamer stopped trying, and watched the spirit in turn. Whenever the Dreamer returned from the fade, he would feel watched. But he would know the spirit was watching him. He didn't understand why, but it didn't feel invasive or overbearing or dangerous.   tbc

A lone wolf wanders the forest. He travels far and wide. Watching the two legged people go about their lives. He hunts and he kills the livestock. Runs when he is caught. But he watches. He smells the new smells. He runs when the tainted ones are near. His fur grey, his eyes blue, his trot is slow, his run is fast. The long ears leave him alone when he passes their camp. The short ears try to pierce his hide with their sharp arrowheads. The horned ones try to chase him down. The short ones give him a weary eye. By moonlight he sits by the waters. He stares at the moon and howls. A man he once was. Forgotten was the spell to change from wolf to man. So now he wanders as the wolf. Once a man named Tacitus, now a wolf without a name.

Dearest Mother,

I know it has been a long time since I last wrote. I apologize, sincerely. In this new land, this land of Elara, everything is different. They have castes here and certain eccentricities are shunned. I must tell you of the castes. Warrior, Scholar, Merchant, Priest. Four castes. Each with their own role in society. Warrior caste seems obvious, but there is more to it than fighting. There is more to each than what the title suggest.

Warriors: They make up the main fighting force, this is true. Some of their duties are to fight in war, to uphold the government, to protect the citizens from physical harm. Warrior caste people are in charge of security, protection, and they are in charge of cleanliness. Keep the streets clean, of crime and trash. They are also the ones who build the buildings, the labor, and to an extent the architects. In our land we would call them the Valents, Bellators, and Aedifix. The Warriors Build, Fight, Protect, and Clean.

Scholars: As the title implies, they research, they learn, and they teach. Scholarly duties are also in restoration of historical artifacts, construction of fine tools, medicine, judges, advisers, some are cartographers. Those who become scholars are expected know things of medicine, philosophy, physics, law, art, poetry, grammar, language. They are expected to be able to know and perform all other duties as well.

Merchants:

Priests:

I fear I have become truly winter here. A Mystery I am to these people, and they acknowledge it, but they do not seek to discover.
