Fallout RP Chapter 1

I shoot a look at the other soldier clad in armor
I've seen armor like that before, that's brotherhood gear, looks stripped down though
"Murdered, a spy, What are ya talkin' about?"

"We think one of the men stood here is from the people we're fighting."

"I can tell you though, that it isn't me. I wasn't here when the deaths started happening."

=I sigh, shaking my head and pinching the bridge of my nose=

Terriffic...

Oh brother...this isn't boding well.

I lean in towards the armored soldier, and talk in a low voice.
"Why don't ya just tell your grunts that you're going to a phony location, then rest for the night to let the spy inform his superiors, and change your destination in the mornin'. That way at least you'll have em off yer backs for awhile."

I whisper back to the ghoul

"You don't get it, this guy is very smart. But I'm leaning towards the captain, due to the fact I walked right into a minefield on his orders after I told him about my fear of a leak."

"I'm assuming that the captain's the one with the broken nose."
I look over to the captain
"This place has a lot of surprises, might have just been a coincidence."
I look at the other soldiers in the group.
I don't think it would be that hard for a spy to blend in with these blue falcons."

"Believe me. This was perfectly set up. The mines were exactly where we were heading. On the exact route we took. In the perfect position to get us all, placed specifically for this kind of patrol."

I sigh.

"I can tell what you're thinking, how a spy should be easy to see? They're called 'Frumentarii', they're masters at what they do. Your best friend could be one and you'd never know unless he slit your throat."

I look at the heavily armored soldier.
"Alright, so let's say there is a, what did you call it, a Fruity Atari? And your suspicion is correct about your captain. What are we gonna do about, are you gonna risk killing him then find out later that he wasn't the spy, or are you gonna keep letting your brothers die around you?

I listen on what they're saying by accident. I catch little things, not all of it. Having keen sense has it's s disadvantages.
"Okay, I'm going to start walking again. They'll be here at minute."
I start walking off to the right, avoiding the place that had been a mine field before changing direction again.
Back in the direction we were heading, further into the wastes.

"I'm going to wait 'till we're alone, and call him out. If he tries to kill me, I kill him. If not, I'll be dead within a few days if it is him. Then I'm asking you to do it. I'll record what he says, as proof to keep you from getting shot up. Just in case."

I begin to walk as well, following our new member.

I nod to the Heavy soldier.
I follow the platoon of military soldiers. I stay to the right of the group.
If there is an assassin then i'm gonna wanna keep my distance.

I look at the sky, it was getting dark, and I was tired of wearing this armour all day.

"Sir, maybe we should set up camp?"

"Good idea, corporal. Platoon! Halt!"

The platoon stopped.

One of the troopers spoke up.
"We're barely a fuckin' squad, captain. Cut the shit."
Some of the others mumbled in agreement.

Good... They're fighting among themselves. It should be much easier to pin this on the captain if they mistrust each other.

I walk over to our camp site, dropping my tent bag on the ground before dropping myself after it.

"You guys give up so easily. We could cover more ground right now."
I smile as I sit down on the ground next to another soldier.
"I've got the night shift."

I remove my helmet and glare at the newbie.

"Fuck off. You try carrying something this heavy for a solid 7 weeks straight."

I busy myself at pitching my tent.

"Also, the captain decides the shifts."
I look at the captain.
"Who's shift?"

"Yours."

I mumble under my breath. "Of fucking course."

Good. I can get you alone and kill the 'spy'.

I turn to the soldier.
"Ever seen a Yao guai, mean sons of bitches, black as night to, you won't even know there's one near until it's right on top of you."
I pull a chewed cigar and a lighter from my coat pocket, I put the cigar in my mouth then light it.
I look to the heavy.
"Didn't your mother ever tell you to keep a civil tongue?"
A smirk cracks at the side of my mouth.

"Ha, so I'm suppose to sleep while the spy slits our throats while we sleep."
I lean back and rest myself on my elbows.
"Besides. I'm not part of this Platoon."

"My mother was too busy getting raped by legionaries."

I say it cold and smooth, and to be honest, it was true. Probably the most truthful thing I'd said these people.

My smile melts.
"Sorry to hear that."
Seems most of these soldiers are after these "Legionaries" for revenge.

"It's fine, you didn't know. Ever seen a crucifixion?"

A crucifixion, where did these people come from?
"Can't say I have, sounds like the part of the wasteland you're from is pretty nasty in comparison."

=I nod, agreeing with Henry=

As if we didn't get enough hell here...

=I pause, picking my words carefully=

You bring some glorified rapists on your heels.

"That barely describes them."
I say casually as if I've had this conversation a thousand times. Because I have.

"Glorified Rapists? I'd like to see you take on a legionary in single combat. They're tough. Hell, you'd probably shit your pants if you saw Legate Lanius. The legion aren't 'glorified rapists', they're one of the largest armies we've ever seen, they're all fearless. They could take any one of us, 'cept maybe a ranger."

I grab my cigar out of my mouth then put it out.
"Why come here?, we don't exactly have armies at the ready."

"My last and current orders are to warn people of the coming Legion. Just so you have time to think."

=I pinch the bridge of my nose, irritated and annoyed=

Look...the point I'm trying to make, is that you're asking us to fight an enemy that people here, including myself, know absolutely NOTHING about.

=I let out an irritated sigh=

If we're going to help...a least give some information on these fanatics.

"Caesar's legion. Slavers and the biggest threat the NCR has ever faced. You're fucked with or without knowledge about them. Tips: kill them at range, kill all of them, and stay the fuck away from Lanius. Questions?"

NCR? ah it's all coming back to me.
"NCR, that's a faction out west right? And I think I heard a tale or two about an Arizona clan called the Legion, but I don't remember the name Lanius at all. Though that was a long time ago I can barely remember, I recall talking to a desert ranger about it once."

=I look at Henry with a raised eyebrow, slightly suprised=

Well...he certainly has some connections

=I think a bit, then smile=

Then again...he's been around a bit longer than I have

"Lanius, or (Lan-ee-oos), is the legions' second in command. The legionaries are more afraid of him than they are of us. With good reason."

I grab my rifle and look through the scope towards the direction we came from.
Tonight is going to be a long night.

I finish pitching my tent and begin to remove my armour.

"You never told me your name." I say to the newest trooper without looking.

(7th 'Fox' Battalion)

"So, LT, where about are we?" I asked.

"From what I'm guessing, a Wasteland. But where specifically, I have no idea.' The LT Replied.

"At least we lost the Legion, for some time." Gulliver bumped in.

"Do we have any flares?" I asked. Again.

"Why?" LT replied.

"Maybe get the attention of maybe some NCR, if they're nearby." I replied.

"What if we attract something... Not so good?" Gulliver mumbled.

"Then we die or we kill them."

"This idea is terrible."

"Gulliver, pop one of the flares we have left. We may as well try."

Gulliver pulled out one of the remaining flares, and set it off.

"Now we wait..."

I stop removing part of my wrist guard and snap my eyes to the flare.

"Hold that thought."

I quickly reattach my armour, pull my helmet on and pick up my rifle.

"Someone get ready to inves-"

"Already on it captain. Briggs, Hopper, let's go."

The three of us set off towards the flare.

"So, should we set up camp?" I ask.

"With what? We have... Nothing, really." Gulliver replied.

"We'll wait here another few minutes, then we'll head off, try and find something." LT Answered.

I tap the right side of my head, indicating Hopper and point to a rock. He takes cover behind it. I tap the left side, indicating Briggs, and point to a broken car. She moves to it.

I lie on my front and crawl to the edge of the hill, taking a look at what I guess is a group of NCR.

I look up to the sky, seeing the flare. I sigh as I rest myself on my elbows again.
A flare out in the night, it's bound to be a trap.
"I'll guard the camp.." I say to myself.

"Did you hear that?" Gulliver asked.

"What?" I asked.

"Something. Like armour scraping the ground."

"Well, Fox, keep your eyes open."

I notice a very slight movement to my left and to my right. I roll over onto my back and come face to face with a pair of Legionaries, removing their machetes from my squad's throats.

"Shit."

I fire my rifle, missing the closest one to me by a few inches, before he charges. I narrowly block the machete with my rifle and roll down the hill.

When I hear a gunshot I draw one of my pistols and make my way to the heavy's location.

A gun shot rang out, and I stood up, as well as the rest of Fox, while this happened, an NCR Heavy rolled down the hill.

"Corporal, see to that Heavy, everyone else get ready!" LT shouted.

Fuck it.
I get up from my seated position and grab Ny side arm before running off in the direction of the gunshot.
Soon finding Legion chasing after James down a hill. I quickly take aim and fire a couple shots towards them.

Fuck... that was steeper than it looked...

I was winded, and could barely stand. So I was grateful when an NCR troop came over.

I pull the bolt on my rifle back and take another shot at the Legionaries.

I quickly see one of the NCR soldiers fire at something. I try too see what it is but my eyes aren't that good at night. I yell to the trooper.
"What are you firing at?"

"He's fine LT!"

I heard the LT shout something like okay. I pulled out a grenade, and threw it up at the Legionaries, making sure it couldn't roll down. In a few seconds it exploded.

I pull back the bolt for a third shot, watching one of the legionaries get blown in half. I take aim at the other one and put a bullet square between his eyes.

"The Legion! They're after our heavy! We need to pick them off before they reach him."
I holster my pistol and get out my rifle. I aim through the scope down at the Legionnaires but fine nothing left.
"Okay. Nevermind. It's already over."

"That all of them?" I shout out, backing towards the rest of Fox.

I see an explosion go off and the sound echoes through the wastes.
I'm sure that won't bring unwanted attention.
"Well that was easy."
I say with a smirk on my face.
