This forum is for the role-plays that are of the genre of Fantasy and any themes thereof.  Some RP's may require the writer to have read or be familiar with elements of fantasy. Every "Dungeon Master" or "Game Master" has there own way of "running" a role-play. As such each role-play has their own set of rules that are generally unspoken because most members are familiar with each other. This does not mean you are expected to know them, if you have questions, ask. All role-plays must follow the rules of the site, however, and none can be "exceptions". As per site rules all ideas for Role-plays must be put through the ideas Forum too be known and then posted in the voting section as a Poll for acceptance.

Here is a brief list of some common Fantasy genres:

Contemporary Fantasy: This is Fantasy in the modern setting. By modern setting it is meant in the world today as it is with magic or creatures of lore.
High Fantasy: Defined either by its setting in an imaginary world or by the epic stature of its characters, themes and plot. Much like Lord of the Rings.
Mythic Fiction: literature that is rooted in, inspired by, or that in some way draws from the tropes, themes and symbolism of myth, legend, folklore, and fairy tales.
Science Fantasy: is a mixed genre within the umbrella of speculative fiction which combines tropes and elements from both science fiction and fantasy, and sometimes also incorporates elements of horror. It's not a clearly defined genre.
Sword and Sorcery: Sword and sorcery (S&S), or heroic fantasy,[1] is a subgenre of fantasy and historical fantasy, generally characterized by sword-wielding heroes engaged in exciting and violent conflicts. An element of romance is often present, as is an element of magic and the supernatural. Unlike works of high fantasy, the tales, though dramatic, focus mainly on personal battles rather than world-endangering matters.
