ZRP-2: Chapter 4, Backtracking

(Sam)
"Much better. Now, keep at it, for maybe twenty more shots, then we'll head back."

(James)
"So Hibiki...tomorrow, while Sam and Eve are out scouting, should we be, I don't know, backing them up or something?"

"We'll keep at a distance and watch their backs." Hibiki said.

Eve nodded, then continued until she had fired twenty shots, most hitting the chest and two head shots. She did well, but she obviously didn't like the rifle.

(James)
"Okay. I don't feel like sitting around while they're the ones risking their necks."

(Sam)
"You're going to need more work, but looks like you're getting the hang of it."

Eve smiled brightly. "Thank you."

Hibiki sighed. "Eve's the best scout we got. Paired with Sam, I know they'll be safe.

(Andrew)

=I sigh once again=

Patience Andrew...Patience

=I then give Mira a bit of advice=

Try to brace your feet a bit and pull the gun in towards your shoulder...that should keep the recoil from messing with your aim.

(Allie)

I step away and lean on the wall. I normally would've joined the guards on the wall, shooting, but .338 wasn't the most common bullet on the block.

Soon we find ourselves in the hallway that houses both our apartments. Stuck between mine or her's I ask

"Mine or yours?"

Mizore watches for about ten seconds more, before running away from the gate, shaking slightly.

(James)
=Maybe I was just bored enough to watch more than I usually do, but I noticed someone running away from the gate. Looking at the way she was dressed, iPad to guess she was an elite, though it didn't look like she was heavily armed=

(Jenny)

I look at both before pulling him into mine and closing the door.

"I just randomly choose, it wouldn't matter."

"How do we... start? I mean er. Um."

I look down at the floor, nervous as hell that I asked that question. Actually, nervous in general.

(Jenny)

I jump forward pulling him into a kiss. Just going with my gut.

"We're going to wing it.."

I return to kissing him and pull him onto the bed.

*Chicago 2 weeks ago*

They dragged my body and threw it down on the ground at the feet of their 'leader'. He waited, expecting me to plead undoubtedly. I look up giving him a cold dead stare. He growls and kicks me, then bends down placing a knife under my chin.

Man: "You one of those shepherds dirt bag?"

I grin.

"No, I'm here to save you from the darkness."

I pull away for a second even though... something told me I shouldn't. I do

"Should we be doing this? I mean... you sure you want to?"

Oh and hey. I'm a virgin so I have no clue whatsoever.

(Jenny)

I glare at him.

"Will you shut up already and kiss me!"

*Chicago 1 week and 5 days ago*

They presented me to a council representing their 'tribe', which was made up of about 30 people. Their 'council' look at me with distaste, calling me 'shepard scum' and other names. Some said they should blow out my brains, others said to release me into the city to give me a second chance. I watch for abit, bored, then cough to get their attention.

"You need me, I have seen it. You may be safe now, but you will be betrayed and killed. Any who resist will be shot, or feed to the dead. Out of everyone here, only twelve will walk out alive. So, what do you say? Death... or me?"

I stop thinking and pull her down so that I kiss her better. I've pretty much given in at this point.

...answer Ty. Jeez dude.

=Shaking my head, I looked back to Hibiki=
"True I guess. And hey, maybe while we're out we'll look around for anything of value."

(Sam)
=I beamed at her=
"No problem Eve."

(Allie)

I had watched the girl walk away shaking.

She okay?

"Hey James, Hibiki.. did you see that girl?"

Eve gave Sam a big hug before letting go. "I prefer my bow. Too bad I'm not Cupid." She said with a grin.

Hibiki looked up. "Alright."

(James)
"Yeah, I saw her Ace. Not sure who she is but I think she's an Elite. And Hibiki....where should we start?"

(Sam)
"Hey, focus. You think in a firefight the enemy will give you time to hug your friends?"
=But I still enjoyed the hug=

(Allie)

I scratch my head and make a mental note to check on here if I get the chance.

"This is training. So it's ok. In a firefight, I'd beat the absolute shit out of them if they tried to touch you." Eve promised.

Hibki shrugged. "Police station?"

(James)
"Chances are it's been cleared out by now. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to look."

(Sam)
"So serious. And what about James, or your mom? You wouldn't fight your hardest for them?"

"I'll rip anyones head off if they hurt the ones I love." Eve said.

Hibiki nodded. "let's go."

(James)
"Wait, what? You mean go right now?"

(Sam)
"That's more like it."

Eve smiles. "I'll rip them limb from limb if it's you though." She giggled, unable to not say something special toward sher.

Hibki grinned. "Why not?"

(Sam)
"Now you went from cute and romantic, to gory and disturbing."
=Still, I guess on a certain level, it was nice to hear she was that willing to protect me, though on another level....I kinda hated it. She may not have meant it, but she made me sound like a helpless child that needed protection. I was anything but=

(James)
"Uh, I don't know. I mean, considering the attack, the run for the truck....you don't want to take a brake lasting longer than twenty minutes?"

"Fiiiiiiiine." Hibiki grinned. "Let's rest."

Eve shrugged. "What do you expect? I'm a child of two worlds right now..."

Mizore stopped, leaning against a tree and dropping onto her knees, still shaking.

(Allie)

I cough and walk away back towards my hold out.

"Get a room."

(Sam)
"Which ones? Mars and Venus?"

(James)
=I raised my eyebrows at her=
"What? You telling me you actually want to go back out there on the day we got married?"

=Granted I doubted being married really mattered, in terms of duties. After all, everyone needed to pitch in. But with as getting tired of it being me, and was more than willing to hand someone the reigns=

(Allie)

I spot the girl from earlier sitting on the hround shaking even more. I aprouch slowly and stop a few feet away.

"Hey. You okay?"

Mizore jumped at the voice, face shooting up to meet the stranger. She nodded, mumbling.
"I-I'm fine. I-it's silly."

(Allie)

I raise my eyrbrow.

"It doesn't look very silly. Should I take you to a doctor? "

Mizore shook her head.
"N-no. It's fine. It's just-" she lowered her head again "-Shooting..."

(Allie)

"Do you have post traumatic stress?"

I was something I was used to, having seeing fellow soldiers suffer from it.

Mizore shook her head.
"I- I just don't like it."

She half-smiled, still not looking up. "I said it was silly."

(Allie)

I look down mildly worried and confused.

"I've never seen you before, are you new here?"

Mizore shakes her head.

"I've been here since the outbreak started."

(Allie)

I nod.

"An elite, what's your name?"

Eve giggled. "No, Venus and Jupiter's moon Callisto." She responded with a grin.

Hibimi smiled. "Then what do you want to do?"

(Sam)
=Grinning, I decided I may as well grab a gun and work on my own aiming=

(James)
"I don't know, to be honest. Just something that doesn't involve leaving the compound."
=And also, (couldn't believe I was saying this) no sex. I was starting to get exhausted and a little sore=

Mizore was a little startled at the sudden question, taking a couple of seconds to answer.

"Mizore Shirayuki."

(Allie)

I nod.

"Well Mizore they may be shooting for aliytle bit longer, there was a few walkers out there."

"I know I-" she paused "-I wanted to help this time but..."

(Allie)

I smile.

"Its okay, there's enoigh guards to protect the compound. And for your problem, you should try to get some ear plugs or something. That could help."

(Andrew)

=I let Mira take a few shots and I grab my own rifle=

=I take aim and fire, hitting my targets with lethal precision=

Mizore smiles slightly to herself.

"Have you ever... Killed one of those things?"

(Allie)

I had to stop myself from laughing at the question.

"Tons, i didn't have the safty of walls or guards. I was forced to roam and fend for myself."

"That must've been terrible."

Mizore felt uncomfortable, she had never been through that, she had always had guards and walls.

(Allie)

I shrug.

"It was that bad, one person alone didn't attract much attention. "
