=Despite having to file reports, being a squadron leader had some perks. For example, I had my own private quarters on the ship, and they were slightly larger than the small room I had last time. For starters, I actually had a desk to fill out the reports on, and a computer to boot instead of a data-pad. The bed was comfy, though it certainly wasn't anything civilian. There was a very small window behind the desk, outside of which I could see Haven, and the fleet. As a security feature, a metal plate would slide over the window to prevent any chance of it breaking and leading to decompression=

When I finally get to the forge, I stand in the middle of the room. Hunched over and holding my right arm with my left.

Surprisingly, the Council was hesitant to allow refugees here, though in the end, after consulting with their own advisers from the cities, they relented, admitting that in the end everyone else on Haven had been a refugee, it was what they were when they came here. It would be cruel to deny others like them, of their own race a chance to find safe harbor. So, another order was given for the construction of settlements on the surface, large enough to house the refugees. Curiously, news of this had spread to the cities and the civilians within, and upon hearing this many wished to aid in the construction of the settlements alongside the construction Sentinels. Some even wished to be there to greet the refugees, saying a human element would help but I think I knew why they really wanted to greet the refugees: in the hopes that maybe some family members, from other colonies, were among the new arrivals=

Her voice rings in my head again, sending me into a flashback.

I'm stuck holding a door from bursting. I don't know whats on the other sdide thats trying to break it down.
Just that it shouldn't be opened because of whats behind it. Everything is blurry, but I can make out that I'm in a small room.
And I'm with Rachel. Thats when my A.I. tells me it's systems are beginning to fail. My body begins to weaken also.
All the while she's screwing with some hand held device. Looking to be busted somehow. Again, everythings blurry.
I yelled to her.
"I can't hold this door for very much longer!"

She responds. "Give me a sec... the door will hold. It has to."

A loud, and I mean loud beeping came from somewhere. The banging stopped from the door. Which was good. But why did the beeping start?

=soon, thanks to the techies, we decrypted a few bits of information. One, the Innies were indeed waiting for us. They had everything planned out. As for what all that meant, we had to idea. It was simply a message from one to another saying that we were on our way. We went further, decrypting the message piece by piece. In the same message, we found a reference to a planet known as "Lun-noon." We did a quick search, and found coordinates for that planet. We had them keep going, while I called up a message to Dante, via Atlas=

Atlas, we have something. Let Dante know we may have a location on Dormii. We have coordinates, and me and my squad were hoping he would let us go, try to find Dormii.

Slowly I trudge my way up the hall and open the door. No sense in waiting any longer for my death right? I can't stand waiting...
Surprisingly. There isn't a thing up here, which fills me with joy. But its only temporary because I know I'm going to bleed out soon.
And the door is shattered, the garden destroyed. The heat from outside when its day will cook me alive.
I want to sit down but that friggin beeping won't shut up. So I start looking around the room for the cause.

=I took a teleporter from Alpha Base back to Vigil's HQ, though it was small compared to Alpha. The base was within the Inner Shell, nestled within a range of snow-capped mountains for secrecy. The entrance to the small base was a tower that jutted upwards from the slope of the mountain, rising maybe 15 stories. That was simply the door. The rest of the base was inside the mountain, and at the moment was only large enough for me, and the group of people within. There were maybe 30 of us in total, so there was no need for a large base, yet=

After a couple minutes of searching, finding and learning. So it turns out that the beeping was a alarm for when a ship entering the atmosphere. But why come to BFE? That was the question in my head as I sit down. Unable to stand much longer.
They're here to finish me I bet. And they're looking for me now. 'Bout time too.

=Whatever the reason, I knew that when needed, they'd come to me. My office was more or less at the center of the base, so that meant no windows. Granted, every other room in the base had no windows, but I suppose that since it was my office and all, the impact was personnel=

One of the bullets hit me and cause my shields to weaken slightly. Bringing me back from thinking and back into reality.
Which means I'm alive. I think. Though doesn't stop me from running along with him. And I see the transport now. I smile under my helmet.

Well, these particular troops anyway. The new tactics were a combination of guerrilla warfare, and old parkour movements. The idea was to have mobile troops, and I mean mobile, advance quickly across the battlefield while artillery and snipers laid down suppressing fire against the enemy lines. It was meant for urban areas or battlefields that offered decent cover. The guerrilla part of the idea called for fast hit and run tactics, using small numbers to achieve large effects, and with equipment we were giving these guys, coupled with their training, they were bound to make good on that concept. Granted, I was making sure they relied on their training more than their equipment. Besides, the equipment they were using was light armor and weapons, for mobility=

your demands caused a minor stir, but I was able to convince the rest of the brass to accept them. Lord Hood is in approval of this, and for all intents and purposes you gained an ally in him, both political and military. As for Charet, she was simply relieved to hear that you'll allow the refugees to stay, and finds your demands over their interactions with your government to be perfectly acceptable. Hood and I were able to reassign enough active servicemen to help properly train your troops. As for trading, both the UNSC and UEG are willing to trade whatever goods you can spare or are willing to trade. Personally, my suggestions are any food or medical supplies you can spare. Building materials could also help, and any knowledge on Forerunner technology or medical procedures would be worth a very large amount of credits. =The ADTS-001 was certainly interesting. I knew what it meant, but it was the first time it was ever brought up in a real message. ADTS-001, for me meant Alpha Dragon's Teeth Spartan. And I was literally the first ever made from Alpha Company, the first generation of Dragon's Teeth Spartans. Me and my old team were sadly all that had made up Alpha Company. The mere memory of them brought up years worth of other memories associated with them, all of which I began to push aside=

Dammit, I thought that by blowing Vigil up I'd get some closure....but even now I'm still haunted by the memory of what I did.
