Fallout RP Chapter 1

I slowed down, breathing heavily as I reached the large gate house of the mighty Citadel, home of the-

"Stand down citizen!"
I looked back forward, and saw the same familiar face. "Bael, don't point that thing at me. It's me." I walked in closer, brushing some of my hair away.
It took him a moment to recognise me, but I could see something in his eyes when he did. Kelly was here.

After a moment of talking, I entered through the front doorway into the Citadel Courtyard. And I was shocked to see the Enclave and Kelly seemingly being interrogated by a small group of Paladins. I stayed still, not wanting to divert what was more likely Hellions anger any further.

(Cameron)

I sigh and take off my hat, then done my helmet so I could see. I walk up to the soldier who ran into the wall.

"Grab my shoulder, I'll guide you."

I guide his hand to my shoulder.

(Azumi)

"Detain me? For what, wearing a uniform of a nonexistent governmental?"

=I had made my way to the metro, hoping I would get some measure of peace=

Or a decent hunt...

=I then hear a commotion echo from the tunnels=

So much for that peace...

=I look to see a trooper being bared down on by a creature I swore to avoid, and I yell at the trooper=

SHOOT IT, YOU DAMN IDIOT! SHOOT!

(Aaron - Platoon Captain)
"No, I'll just slow you down. Go get that bastard before he gets away."
I take my hand back and get out my rifle. Just incase I get attacked.
"Get going."

(Clay - Sniper)
The thing spoke. It sounds like a bunch garbage at first. But it eventually starts sounding like english.
"You can talk?!'
But, from somewhere behind me I hear someone shout 'Shoot it!' I would turn around to see who but the thing pulls a gun and aims.
I bring up my own gun and slam into the wall before it shoots me. Wait. That didn't help. My arm begins to sting.

Nevertheless, I pull out my handgun with my free arm and start shoorting at it. It screams as the first three hit it's chest.
It manages to get another round of before I finish it. This time the thing missed.

(Cameron)

I nod and take off running, having more confidence now that I could see. I spotted the ranger up ahead kneeling next to the man they were chasing. I slow done and walk up slowly.

"Naomi...? Is that you..?"

=I curse and head over to the trooper=

Damn fool...running around the metro like that...

=I look at the trooper with a scowl=

What the hell are doing here alone?

(Clay - Sniper)
I turn around to see who was talking. I see, barely, the man who lead us here.
"I could ask you the same."
The pain in my arm intensifies as adrenaline starts to wear down. I grip my arm with the other, trying to coax it.
"Fuck."

(Zach - Trooper)
I'm completely lost now. I barely see anything and I can hear the sounds of Feral Ghouls. I think I took a wrong turn...

(Aaron - Platoon Captain)
I start heading back down the way I came from. Angry that I can't help any further.

(Occulta Vulpes)
I managed to find the gun despite all the odds. But now I have a Ranger atop me. And not to mention the other voice that's heard.

=I just stare=

I know my way around here, and know these tunnels are dangerous.

=I sigh=

Let's find the rest of your people and get you the fuck out of these tunnels.

(Clay - Sniper)
"That might be a problem, seeing as we're scattered looking for a Le-"
I stop mid-sentence to better hear a noise from behind me. I turn towards it.
"Did you hear that? It was like a moaning."

(Zach - Trooper)
It's too dark, I can't see and the sounds are getting louder. I keep trying to head back.
"Fuck."
I hear a different noise. Well, it was like a really loud growl...

I heard it too...

=I turn around at the noise=

Nonononononono...that's NOT good...

Don't move...don't even breathe.

(Naomi)

I pull my revolver back out, placing the barrel against his temple.
"Last words?"

(Kelly)

Hillion: "A government that killed many of our members and our last Elder. This conversation is done. Paladin Jameson, Paladin Ashton. Escort her to her room."
"As for you, Williams, we'll talk later about this."

(Occulta Vulpes)
"You all will die the worst of deaths by the hands of my brothers."

(Ryan - Trooper)
"Ughhh..."
Something is laying on top of me. Something heavy. And it's hard to breathe.
"Ughhh..."
I can see the faintest of a green uniform from under here. But I can't seem to get the trooper's attention...

(Clay - Sniper)
"There it is again. What is it?"

(Aaron - Platoon Captain)
I finally made it back to the entrance of the Metro. "Wait. Where are the others?"

(Zach - Trooper)
Wait, duh. Your lighter dumbass.
I start patting my pockets for my 'lucky lighter'. I found it in my sleeve pocket so I take it out and flip the lid open.
Then I start trying to light it. After a couple tries the spark catches and creates a small flame. But more importantly, light.

(Azumi)

The Elder walks away and two Paladins approach me, I hand kelly off to one of the knights standing around. I give her a sympathetic and mildly scared look.

"I'm sorry Kelly.."

The two grab my me and pull me away before escorting me into one of the wings.

=I unlimber my laser rifle=

You don't want to know...

=I flip of the safety=

(Clay - Sniper)
I pull out my Hunting Rifle and kill my own safety. Then walk over to the man.
"What say we get out of here then?"

(Ryan - Trooper)
"Heeeel.. pa."
It's getting increasing hard to breathe. Whatever the hell this freak is heavy.

(Zach - Trooper)
Another loud growl. Closer this time. I see what caused it this time though. The Feral Ghoul is down the hall from me.
"Tango spotted!"
Wait, you're alone here.
I raise my Service Rifle with one hand. It's either one handed rifle or pitch black with a two handed rifle.

(Aaron - Platoon Captain)
I heard something from back in the service tunnel but I shrug it off. Must be the Rangers.

I watched as the Officer was pulled away, and started forward, hoping to get to Kelly before the others did.
Sadly, that wasn't going to happen.

"Rockfowl get out of my way." I said sternly to the Knight. He used to be with the Outcasts, but now that they were with us it was much harder for people like me or Kelly to do anything. It's one of the reasons I left.
"No can do, pal. The Elder specifically wants to speak with Kelly about this. And besides, we all know whatever you were planning on doing would fail, just like Broken Steel."

I glared at the soldier. He was strong, and capable, but I was better. But what good would it do me to kill him? None.
"Fine. Do you want me to go then, Defender?" I saw his eyes twitch at the word.

"No. I got some friends who'd love to talk to you."

(Kelly)
I was pulled into the council room, which was oddly full. The other high ranking members of the order in here.
Hillion: "Paladin Williams..." He clears his throat, "Kelly. As you know Sentinel Lyon's was killed, leaving us without a sentinel."

"Yes."

Hillion: "I think we need a new one, in order to keep order in the Brotherhood. As a member of the council, and an accomplished soldier, we think you should take the role."

"Why me? Shouldn't Star Paladin Casdin be the one to receive this honour?"

Star Paladin: "I've agreed it would be for the best if you took the role."

Hillion: "It would mean a few more duties than those you currently have... But I'm sure you can handle it."

"May I... have time to think about this?"

They want you too preoccupied to lead Broken Steel. But a Sentinel... I could do so much more to help...

Hillion: "Of Course, Paladin Williams. You are dismissed."

I limp out, heading to the medical room to get myself fixed before sitting to think.

(Naomi)
I pull the trigger, sending his brains out against the wall.
I turn to the 'Ranger' behind me, raising the gun at him.
"And who are you? You're not a ranger, or you wouldn't assuming I'm not going to shoot you."

(Zach - Trooper)
I fire off a round. A warning shot really (my excuse for missing), but the thing doesn't care. It keeps running at me.
Another shot, missing again. That's when I just keep pulling the trigger. Missing mostly but did hit once or twice.

(Aaron - Platoon Captain)
Is that gunfire? It is! And it's a Service Rifle. Rangers don't have that...
I turn to the service tunnel and run down it.
'Private! Where are you?!"

(Ryan - Trooper)
"He- he..."
It seems I'm going to die underneath this thing. So I force out one more cry for help.
"Hey!"
I wasn't sure what it sounded like to him. Or her. I can't tell from under this... what was it that guy called them? Mutants?

(Clay - Sniper)
"That time it sounded like sensible words. And it was closer. Should we go see what was happening?"
Wait, why am I asking? Especially to a man I don't know the name of.
"Nevermind. I'm going to check it out."

Smack, another hit square in the jaw. I spat some blood out and sighed, looking at Rockfowl and his little friends.
They'd stripped me of my armor, of course, and now I had no idea where ir must have been. At least my guns were nearby the door.
"You know... If you were gonna try and bash some guys brains out, going for more easily broken bones works just as well."

Another punch in the face.

"You know Coco-" Yet another punch in the face.
"Shut the fuck up. Not only do you abandon your mission along with Lyons, but once he's gone you defy the rule of your own Elder. And THEN, you run like a bitch with your tails between your legs!"
The two Paladins holding me let go, and both crack at the backs of my knees, forcing me to the ground and Rockfowl kicks me in the head.

"You're just as much of a bitch as Williams."

(Cameron)

I take a step back.

"I never assumed you weren't, I just didn't want to encourage you to shoot."

I stand there nervous, ready to fight if I need to.

"Ranger Cameron Shore, Mojave. You?"

=I sigh, looking at the man=

It's your funeral.

=I keep my gun pointed at the creature=

(Naomi)

"You seem to know me already."

That name seems familiar...

"Naomi Richards. Arizona."

(Kelly)

Limping around the Citadel was boring, until I heard noises in a supply room.
I listened a while, and when my name was thrown in along with the word 'bitch' I wasn't waiting for them to finish.

I kick the door, sending it open, and see Gideon and three ex-outcasts.

"Well, well, well. Looks like Coco is upset."

(Cameron)

I gasp.

It was her!

"Holy shit, Naomi it is you! Last I heard the legion got you and the others with you! We thought you were dead.."

I was pleased with the turn of events. The other three, clearly, were not.
I got to my feet and grabbed one of the three of them, ramming him hard in the back of the head, rattling and dazing him, before doing it again and knocking him out, and stealing his gun.

"Good to see you're okay, Kelly."

Coco and his friend looked from Kelly to me, a look of defeat in ones eyes. The other charged Kelly.
She was right. Coco was upset.

(Clay - Sniper)
"Yup."
I move forward to the Mutant human thing. Pistol out and everything. I kick it once and hear a yelp. But the thing was dead...

(Zach - Trooper)
The freak got up to me in a heartbeat and clawed my shoulder. The one holding the lighter. It flies out of my hand.
I cry out in despair as I fall over backwards in the pitch black. The monster near inches of me.

(Aaron - Platoon Captain)
I hear a yell of pain from down a flight of stairs. I dash down them and turn the corner. That's when I slam into something... fleshy.

(Clay)
I kick it again. Another, softer yelp. It's mouth wasn't moving though. I turn to the man.
"Are these things suppose to-"
Something grabs my leg midsentence. I look down at it as fast as I can. Seeing that the hand has a green woven together glove.
"What the!"
I shake my ankle free from it. I hear one more quiet call for help. From underneath the Mutant.

"Help me out! There's one of my comrades under this thing!"

=I run over=

Well...let's help him out of there, damnit.

=I sling my rifle over my shoulder=

(Kelly)
I turn, moving out of the way and slamming him into the doorframe.
"Defender Rockfowl. Stand down this instant, or I will tell the Elder of your assault of a civilian, and a higher ranking knight than yourself. Understood?"

(Naomi)
I don't respond, instead thinking back to that day.
Caesar looks up at me, freshly crucified, asking if I would rather become a slave. I spit in his eye, making him leave to let me suffer.
They left my armour on, to serve as a warning that even Desert Rangers were within his grasp.
There were four of us. One had been cut down by Legion Machetes, another had chosen slavery. Markus had died an hour ago, I was on my way there. But then... I was on the ground, being dragged away.

(Cameron)

She doesn't respond and seems to look off into space. I stand there awkwardly, shifting my weight from foot to foot. Finally I break the silence.

"You remember me right..? It has been a while since we last saw.."

I rammed the butt of the pistol into the second soldiers head, watching him fall back onto his unconscious partner. Grabbing my guns, I looked at Kelly and Rockfowl.
For some reason I loved watching ex-Outcasts get their asses handed to them.

"Get off of me! You're not superior! You don't even deserve to be called a Knight!"

(Clay - Sniper)
I get down on one knee and try to push to Mutant off. The thing was heavy as... uh. Heavier then missile...
Once the man came over and help push though. The Creature was off of a bloodied Ryan. Private Ryan.
"You're alive?"

(Aaron - Platoon Captain)
I stand up before it can and have my rifle readied.
"Private?"
It responds with a throaty growl. I fire once, twice, thrice into it. It lets out a sort of dying breathe and stops moving.

(Zach - Trooper)
"Captain? W-where did you come from? Where's the way out!"
I try to stand up. But I slip on my lighter, funnily enough. I grab it and stand up this time.

(Ryan - Trooper)
"No shit sherlock. Help me up."

(Clay)
"But the heavy said you were killed by Feral Ghouls."
I grab his hand and lift him up.

=I help pull up the trooper=

Just be happy you're alive.

=I look down the tunnels=

(Kelly)

"Explain why I was just offered a new position by Elder Hillion himself, Defender. Now, you will-" I slam him into the door frame for emphasis "Listen to my orders and find yourself elsewhere in the Citadel."

(Naomi)

"I remember you. But you're no ranger. Stop pretending to be one. Just because I got you the armour doesn't mean you've had the training."

The soldier grunted, and let out an uneasy nod. He needed to talk to Casdin about this 'new position'. Perhaps it could be the final nail in the coffin of Broken Steel.

I let out a reluctant sigh, watching Kelly deal with the Defender. He kinda wished he'd had the chance to punish Rockfowl himself, but he knew he'd get the chance eventually.
Eventually...

(Cameron)

I flinch at her words.

"I'm not a Ranger.. never wanted to be. I'm a protector, a man who think of others before himself. I don't need petty titles to make me feel better or write my name in legend. I go to sleep every night, not caring if its my last but only that I have done my part in protecting others.."

I turn away, mildly disgusted with her.

"I thought you would show more respect to an old friend... I did."

(Naomi)
"Losing everything tends to change some people."
I reload my Sequoia, and place it back at my hip.

(Kelly)
I let him go and turn to Gideon.
"That goes for you too, outsider. You're not supposed to be in here."

I looked at Kelly, sighing a little as I straightened out my shirt.
"I came here to make sure you were okay, and to tell you Lucker is safe, though unconscious, in the Rivet City Clinic. I'll send him over as soon as he's ready to move again."
I holstered my pistol and rifle, before looking back up at you, now stern.

"And don't you ever call me an outsider."

(Aaron - Platoon Captain)
"Somewhere over the-"
I was interrupted by the sound of more Ferals. I turn back the way I came. At least the was I think I came.
"Private, follow the sound of my voice and we'll get out of here. Okay? Just follow my voice."
I start walking down the hallway I've come from. Again, the way I think I came.

(Zach - Trooper)
"Y-y-yes sir."
I try to follow him. I have my hands on the wall so I can feel where I'm going. I can hear the faint steps of something in mud.
So it's got to be the Feral Ghouls. Hopefully they just leave us alone.

(Ryan - Trooper)
I turn to the Sniper we picked up.
"I need to tell the others that the Heavy is messed up in the head. Where are they."

(Clay - Sniper)
"They're hunting him down now. Turns out the bastard was Legion. A Frumentarii."

(Ryan)
"That would it explain it. A lot actually. But wait. Hunting him down?"

(Clay)
"He managed to escape before he could kill him. Don't worry though, we have a Desert Ranger after him. He won't get far."

(Cameron)

"Yeah I know... I lost everything too.."

I start walking, still a little pissed.

"Where did those soldiers go too? And who was that?"

(Ryan - Trooper)
"A Desert Ranger? Where did he come from?"

(Clay - Sniper)
"Where did she come from you mean? And she just showed up from nowhere."

(Ryan)
I'm still trying to process this.
"Right, so our Heavy is Legion and we come across a Ranger. A Desert Ranger no less?"

(Clay)
"Well, two Rangers. If that other guy wearing Desert Ranger Armor is a Ranger."

(Ryan)
"Two? Two Desert Rangers?! Hot damn."
My face is still hurting, more of a slight sting now. But at least the bleeding stopped.

(Clay)
"Like I said, if he is a Ranger."

(Ryan)
"Why wouldn't he be?"

=I just stand there and listen=

Well...that's two people who betrayed my trust...

=I look around=

Shouldn't we be looking for your buddies? That is, unless you want to be food for the Ferals.

(Aaron - Platoon Captain)
"C'mon. Almost there. Just a bit further."
All that can be heard is the sound of our breathing. When suddenly the sound of a Feral Ghoul running. echoes through the tunnels.
'It should be right here."
I turn to the right nad walk into a door. My face erupts into pain. More importantly my nose, which I think I just broke.
"Fuck!"

(Clay - Sniper)
"Oh. Right. Let's get going."
I turn to leave. But somebody puts a hand on shoulder.

(Ryan - Trooper)
I put my hand on the Sniper to stop him.
"I lost my Rifle earlier. Got a spare weapon?"

(Clay)
"Yeah. That thing's there."
I turn around and point to the 308. Hunting Rifle on the floor.
"You might want to check to see if the freak is holding any extra ammo."

(Ryan)
"Sounds good."
I walk over to the gun, pick it up, check the magazine then check the creature. Finding a few extra rounds.
I stand up afterwards and we move out. Heading back to the entrance lead by Clay.

(Aaron)
I hear sounds of the Ghouls running towards us. That was louder then I intended. In a rush I try to open the door and it disappears into the ceiling.
Light explodes into the tunnel, blinding us for a couple seconds. I grab the chestplate of the young man and pull him in.
Then click the button on the wall which closes the door. Just in the nick of time too, because we can hear the scratches on the other side.

(Kelly)
I let the Outcasts pass, before turning to leave myself.
"You are an outsider now. Don't kid yourself into thinking otherwise."
I pause and sigh.
"With enough fire, Steel can be reforged."
With that, I walk away.

(Naomi)
"That was a Frumentarii. As for the soldiers, I don't know."

I walk behind Cameron, making sure to be alert for danger.

I let out a soft sigh, as I watched her slowly walk away. Whatever new position she'd been offered, I could tell she deserved it. She didn't understand it, but I knew her better than anyone here.

I made my way out of the lower levels of the Citadel, out into the Courtyard. I was only wearing some worn pants and one of these oddly common hoodies, sighing. I'd need to get some of the Security armor now. Great.

Before I took another step, a thought crossed my mind. "Hm... That Enclave woman..."

(Cameron)

I the sound of ghouls echos through the tunnels and reaches us. I shiver and start walking faster.

"We came in from up ahead, lets hurry before we attract attention.

(Azumi)

I'm sitting on a bed in one of the wings of the Pentagon. Theres a guard at my door, but thats about it.

The Brotherhood is a bunch of bullshit...

(Kelly)
I decide to check on the 'prisoner' telling her guard to let me pass.

I walk in, looking at her.
"I'm sorry about this. I can try to get you released but I'm just a Paladin."

Another reason to take the rank Sentinel.

(Naomi)

I remain silent, still on alert for anything that might kill us.

(Zach - Trooper)
"S-s-sir. W-where are we?"
My shoulder screams with pain. I try to ignore it, but it was in my voice. I can't hide it. It hurts like crazy.

(Aaron - Platoon Captain)
'I don't know. But we're not far from the others."
I think... I hope.
"Just got to keep making right turns and we'll get there. No problem."
By now we're at the top of the stairs. At the top is a huge tunnel. And a train. So a train tunnel. I move to the right and continue walking that way.

Shit. Ryan's body is still probably down there. If what the Heavy said was true. Ghouls and everything.

(Clay - Sniper)
Thankfully I hadn't gone very far from the Entrance. So we get there and I rest against the wall.
"The others should be here any minute. In the mean time, Ryan. Mind telling us how you survived?"

(Ryan - Trooper)
"No. I'll wait for the others. As I'm sure they'll want to hear it too."
I stand there and stare up the stairs. Keeping watch really. God my head hurts. And so does my arm.
"Anyone got a Stimpack?"

(Azumi)

I sigh, looking up.

"It was expected, though I had hoped they would've take in to consideration about the Legion.."

(Cameron)

I follow the tunnels I had taken to get there, and we make it there pretty quick. I walk up and see two soldiers.

"Hey, wheres the rest of your men?"

=I shake my head=

Sorry, but no.

=I take a deep breath to compose myself=

(Clay - Sniper)
Now that there's talk about pain, the flesh wound on my arm begins to hurt again. Nevertheless, I respond to the Ranger.
"I thought they were with you...?"

(Aaron - Platoon Captain)
We keep on moving through to train tunnel. We come up to yet another service tunnel to our right. We go down it.
Well. Now that my eyes have adjusted to the low light, I can see-ish. And, well. I find the Heavy's body. We must be close.

(Cameron)

I shake my head.

"I ran into one of them, but he told me to go on.. Maybe they'll show up soon?"
